Body Mass Index Calculator

Your BMI or Body Mass Index is a rough estimation of the  state of your health in relation to your weight and height.

The BMI calculator should only be used by adults and does not apply to anyone under the age of 18. The results also do not apply to pregnant women.

The BMI calculator is not a perfect solution or an exact guide and so shouldn’t be used for a medical diagnosis.

The results shown do not take into consideration individual body shape or muscle density; ie. an athletic person with a large muscle mass may get an incorrect reading.

What The BMI Results Mean

BMI 18 or Below

If your Body Mass Index Calculation is  a value of  18 or under you are underweight and possibly under nourished. There may be an underlying reason for this and so health check should be a priority Being underweight can be just as unhealthy as being overweight. You will not need any kind of weight loss product or diet aid.

BMI 19 - 24

If the calculation shows between these two values, you are considered average.  A value closer to 19 shows that you may become underweight in the future - closer to 24 shows that you may become overweight sometime soon. If you are in this category you should keep checking you BMI regularly

BMI 25 - 29

If your results show a figure in between these two values now is the time to seriously consider your weight and take steps to reduce your body mass, body weight and body fat. If you are over 30 years of age you may find it harder to lose weight compared to when you were younger. You should consider using a diet aid of some description.

BMI 30 -39

A BMI value this high has you firmly planted in the very overweight or obese category. It is absolutely vital for your future health and for a greater life expectancy to seek a weight loss solution now. A diet aid is highly recommended

BMI 40 +

You are dangerously or morbidly obese - medical attention should be sought sooner rather than later. A clinically proven diet aid should be either prescribed or obtained.
